As we grow and progress on the project, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Director
to join us on the project in Bridgwater
.
The role will ensure that quality is embedded into how the Alliance plans, executes and records its work,enabling the programme todemonstratethat the Mechanical,Electrical and HVAC scope has beeninstalledand verifiedin accordance with nuclear safety and regulatory expectations.
Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:- Develop and implement the MEH Alliance Quality Strategy, ensuring it supports the successful delivery of the programme and aligns with HPC quality and regulatory expectations.
Ensuring that quality is fully integrated across construction planning, installation processes, verification and inspection regimes, handover and completion process. - Lead the programme wide approach to the production,validation and acceptance of quality records, ensuring that documentation is complete, accurate, traceable and delivered on time.
- Create a single coherent qualityapproachacross all Alliance partners, removing fragmentation between partner systems and processes.
Ensuring that: - Quality expectations are clear and consistent
- Roles and responsibilities are understood
- Quality processes are standardised wherever possible
- Assess the capability of the existing Quality organisation and implement any changesrequiredto ensure it is fit for purpose for the next phase of the programme.
- Ensure the programme has the right skills,structure and leadership capability within the quality function. Develop the capability of the quality community across the Alliance
- Drive thedevelopmentof a strong qualitycultureacross the Alliance, where quality is understood as a fundamental part of safe and effective delivery.
- Establish clear governancearrangementsto ensurequalityperformance is monitored, reported and acted upon.
- Developmeaningful performance metrics that allow leadership teams to understand record production progress, emerging risks and areas requiring investigation/intervention.
- Previous experience leading large and complex quality functions in long term industrial engineering projects.
- Strong operational leadership capabilities
- Excellent stakeholder management, in particular coordinating with stakeholders across various functions, both internal and external to the alliance.
- Confidence in escalating issues and driving operational accountability
- Prior experience in Nuclear would be very advantageous due to the stage of the project we are in

We are working across both Hinkley Point C units to deliver the infrastructure that will power the station and its operations, creating 1,000 jobs including many specialist engineers. Works include the design and installation of circa 76,000 cables totalling over 3,000km in length; over 180km of cable containment support systems; fire and environmental sealing; design and installation of earthing systems, and specialist packages associated with data acquisition and plant control.
