Technical Author – Slaughterhouses and Animal By-products – UKBAT – 32429 Job Description

As a Technical Author in the UK BAT team you will enable the development and publication of best‑practice environmental standards for large slaughterhouses and animal‑by‑product installations.

Responsibilities
  • Draft BAT Conclusions and coordinate with Technical Working Groups.
  • Present a final document for publication as a new UK‑wide environmental standard.
  • Analyse technical arguments and data critically to support BAT decisions.
  • Produce clear, technical documents and reports.
  • Project‑manage deliverables to ensure timely results.
  • Travel occasionally to attend workshops or meetings (overnight stays may be required).
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Specialist knowledge of the slaughterhouse and animal‑by‑product industry.
  • Strong understanding of process engineering, environmental issues and UK industrial environmental legislation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
