HGV Mechanic

We are currently looking to recruit for HGV Technicians to join our Transport Department at our Bridgwater Depot within our Müller Milk & Ingredients Distribution business. This is a great opportunity for HGV Technicians looking to work for a prestigious logistics company, servicing and repairing a modern well-maintained fleet of vehicles. The purpose of this role is to repair and maintain our HGV fleet to comply with legal and company standards.

Candidates will be responsible for actively seeking solutions to challenges and for embracing a safe and efficient operating approach to their work.

  • Overtime rate - 1.125x hourly rate
  • Saturday - 1.125x hourly rate
  • Sundays and bank holidays - 1.5x hourly rate
  • Unsociable (6pm – 4am) – 14.25% hourly rate

• Inspect and maintain our HGV fleet
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and transport to test centre
• Record vehicle defects and keep accurate records of work carried out on each vehicle
• Carry out fault diagnosis
• Put safety first regarding all aspects of the role
• Work well both independently and in a team
• Manage deadlines well and understand how to prioritise a workload

• City & Guilds part 2 & 3 / BTEC / IMI in motor vehicle management or equivalent practical experience in the commercial vehicle industry
• Commercial experience on HGV’s is essential
• Class C+E licence preferable but not essential
