Quantity Surveyor

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

North Bay Developments is a well-established and growing construction company delivering high-quality development and construction projects across the region. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced and commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join our team based in Carnaby, near Bridlington.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to play a key role in the commercial management of projects while contributing to the continued success of the business.

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects from pre-construction through to completion.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing accurate estimates and cost plans for construction projects.
• Carrying out quantity take-offs from drawings to support procurement and order placement.
• Obtaining, reviewing, and negotiating quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Preparing, managing, and administering JCT contracts.
• Producing regular commercial reports and monitoring project performance.
• Managing project costs and identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies.
• Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and colleagues.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and helping to enhance commercial processes.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience working within the construction sector.
• Experience preparing estimates and managing project costs.
• Strong understanding of JCT contracts and contract administration.
• Excellent commercial reporting and analytical skills.
• Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• A proactive, organised, and solution-focused approach.
• Membership of, or progression towards, RICS or an equivalent professional qualification.
