The job itself

'Where children come first and everything we do must reflect that single goal.'

Are you committed to working towards (and do not already have) a Level 3 Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprentison qualification? Required from April 2026 at Bridlington Nursery School fixed term contract, term time only.

We are looking to appoint an apprentice Teaching Assistant to join our friendly school which thrives on a strong team approach, fantastic children, high standards and a caring ethos. We are seeking an individual who is engaging, has energy, personality and commitment to work in an effective school to support children's learning. Successful candidates will work towards achieving a recognised qualification while gaining invaluable hands‑on experience.

You will work towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Standard. The school will support in‑house training, research for assignments, shadowing and mentoring during which you will complete the qualification with an external training provider through East Riding of Yorkshire Council. All the training will be delivered within the school and you will have guidance and support to complete on the job learning throughout the qualification.

The role will include supporting individuals, small groups and child‑initiated play from the age of two – five. The successful candidate will support all aspects of the nursery including setting up and maintaining high‑quality provision inside and outside, health and safety checks, first aid, assessment and observation of children. You may also support Forest School.

The successful candidate will need to be flexible, enthusiastic and happy to work as part of a team. Bridlington Nursery School is committed to the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

All applicants will be interviewed by a panel and be observed working with children in the nursery setting by a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check. Please note the school does not have the resources to send individual notifications to all applicants who are not shortlisted so if you have not been contacted within 2 weeks of the closing date you should assume you have been unsuccessful.
