Temporary Bookkeeper

Are you a detail-oriented and adaptable Bookkeeper looking for a hands-on role within a small business? Are you used to a stand alone position where you can support the finance function and look at ways to make efficiencies? Are you immediately available and able to work in a temporary contract for a well established business who need additional support to process a backlog of work in the first instance.

Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturer based in the Bridlington area, is seeking a temporary Bookkeeper to join their team and support them with a backlog of accounts work.

They are looking for an enthusiastic individual to take on a crucial role, providing essential financial support and contributing to the smooth operation of the business.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with solid bookkeeping experience, particularly with Sage, who is eager to become an integral part of a hands-on SME.

What the Bookkeeper job involves

You’ll play a key role in managing the daily financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

Raising customer invoices and delivery notes on a daily basis.

Managing the invoice factoring process.

Daily monitoring of bank accounts and cashflow.

Payroll administration, collating employee hours each week from a clocking in system and send to payroll.

Matching invoices and accurately allocating payments within Sage.

This is a varied and fast-paced role that would suit someone who enjoys being at the heart of an operational team, managing multiple financial priorities, and providing excellent administrative support.

Skills required

We’re looking for candidates who can demonstrate a practical approach and a willingness to contribute beyond traditional bookkeeping duties. Ideal candidates will have:

Proven experience with Sage 50 would be beneficial.

The ability to manage and allocate payments efficiently within Sage.

Self managed and able to work on their own initiative.

A high degree of adaptability and flexibility to take on a range of tasks as needed.

Previous experience in bookkeeping from a small / medium size business.

This role would suit someone who is not afraid to contribute to a busy, hands-on environment.

Other information

Working hours are initially 10 AM to 4 PM, Monday to Friday.

On-site car parking available.

Own transport is essential due to the location.
