Tutor Needed - 1:1 Support for Year 6 Learner (EBSA) | DT6 Area | Urgent Start

Part-time | Mornings Mon-Fri | Term Time Only

Prospero Teaching is searching for a compassionate, dedicated 1:1 Tutor to support a Year 6 pupil experiencing EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance). This role is based within a school setting, offering the chance to make a genuine impact on a young person's confidence, learning and wellbeing. If you are patient, creative, and driven to help learners re-engage with education, this role could be perfect for you.

Start date:

ASAP

• Plan and deliver engaging, personalised sessions tailored to the learner's needs.
• Assess and monitor progress, offering constructive feedback and encouragement.
• Record student progress and provide clear weekly reports.
• Build a trusting relationship by showing empathy, understanding and consistency.
• Record attendance accurately.
• Bring creativity, adaptability and organisation to every session.
• Maintain a calm, fair and patient approach at all times.

• We're looking for someone who is:
• Experienced working with young people in UK schools (minimum 1 year - essential)
• Confident delivering Maths and English at primary level
• Calm, reliable, empathetic and resilient
• Skilled at building rapport and inspiring learners
• Experienced with SEN/SEMH learners (desirable, not essential)
• Understanding of EBSA or alternative provision approaches

• To be considered, you must:
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
  • Provide professional references
  • Have up-to-date safeguarding training (or be willing to complete it)
