The Senior Construction Manager is a full-time, on-site role, responsible for leading complex capital construction projects in regulated industrial environments. This role oversees construction planning and execution, including coordination between engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations to ensure safe, timely, and compliant delivery. The Senior Construction Manager manages project budgets, schedules, risks, and quality standards, while ensuring strict adherence to construction safety and regulatory requirements.
Day-to-day activities include supervising internal teams and external contractors, monitoring project progress and controls, resolving interface issues, and providing clear reporting and handover documentation to clients and stakeholders.
- Candidates should possess strong Supervisory Skills, including team leadership, contractor management, and stakeholder coordination.
- Candidates should possess Budgeting and Project Control skills to manage costs, schedules, risks, and performance metrics.
- Candidates should possess Construction and Construction Safety skills, with experience in onsite execution, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Candidates should have experience in capital project delivery within pharma, biotech, or other regulated industrial environments.
- Candidates should have excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on clear ownership and reliable handover.
- Candidates should ideally hold a degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, and have substantial experience in senior construction or project management roles.
- Fluency in German and English is required; additional European languages are an advantage.
