Overview

Construction Laborer (Temporary) at Whitaker Construction Company, Inc. is hiring for 40 positions from 2/28/2026 to 12/24/2026 at 44 South 1050 West, Brigham City, UT. Pay is $23.69 per hour, with overtime possible.

• Prepare construction sites to eliminate potential hazards.
• Load, unload, and distribute building materials and tools.
• Assist with industry-specific tools such as grade stakes, levels, and compaction equipment.
• Tend pumps, compressors, and generators that provide power to tools or move materials.
• Dig, spread, grade, and compact construction materials such as dirt and gravel.
• Assist and signal equipment operators in alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery as well as guiding pipes and shoring devices into place.
• Make final preparations by hand of ground trenches, trench boxes, and slide rail shoring systems for utility infrastructure.
• Operate hand tools and power equipment such as tape measures, levels, chains, slings, guide wires, shovels, picks, rakes, compressors, plate compactors, skid steers, and sweepers.
• Clean work site and comply with all safety policies and procedures.

• Must be 18 years or older and have proof of legal authority to work in the U.S.
• No minimum education required; on‑the‑job training available.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and manipulate materials up to 50 lbs and to perform strenuous labor outdoors.
• Ability to work full‑time for the entire period (2/28/2026 – 12/24/2026) across multiple Utah counties.
• Must comply with a drug, alcohol, and tobacco–free work zone; random drug/alcohol testing may occur.

Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM. 40+ hours per week with possible weekend/holiday work and overtime at 1.5× regular rate.

Base pay $23.69 per hour; possible overtime pay up to $26.23 /hour, overtime at $35.54 / hour, with potential $39.35 / hour based on experience. Transportation and daily subsistence are provided. Optional furnished housing (utilities included) may be available at up to $500 per month. Health and welfare benefits may apply.

Employer will transport workers daily between the main site in Brigham City and additional worksites in Box Elder, Cache, Davis, Morgan, Rich, Salt Lake, Summit, Utah, Wasatch, and Weber counties, as well as areas of Logan, Ogden, Provo‑Orem‑Lehi, and the Salt Lake City‑Murray corridor. Reimbursement for travel costs and visa expenses will be provided for H‑2B workers.
