Quantity Surveyor

Location: Brighton and Hove

Freelance Quantity Surveyor (Main Contracting) – Remote / Brighton and London based Projects

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support a consultancy working with 2–3 established Main Contractors on an ongoing basis.

This is a long-term freelance opportunity offering full time freelance engagement, with work primarily carried out remotely while supporting projects for businesses based in Brighton and the South East. Candidates seeking 4 days per week would also work.

Role Overview :
The successful Quantity Surveyor will provide commercial support across multiple live projects, working closely with Main Contractors through our client.

Key Responsibilities:

* Managing project costs and commercial reporting

* Preparing and reviewing valuations, variations, and final accounts

* Subcontractor procurement and account management

* Cost forecasting and budget control

* Contract administration and commercial compliance

* Supporting project delivery teams with commercial advice

* Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders

* Assisting across multiple projects and contractors simultaneously

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within Main Contracting

* Strong commercial and contractual knowledge

* Ability to manage multiple projects independently

* Experience with JCT contracts preferred

* Excellent communication and organisational skills

* Comfortable working remotely and autonomously, but happy to attend client meetings and sites as required

Package:

* £300 – £350 per day

* Ongoing freelance work

* Contract flexible arrangement

* Remote working with occasional Brighton/South East meetings if required
