We are seeking a MEICA Lead to play a key role in the successful delivery of projects across the Southern Water Framework. Working closely with Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, commissioning teams, designers and supply chain partners, you will provide leadership and oversight for MEICA and commissioning activities throughout the project lifecycle, from design development through to project handover and takeover.
This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of MEICA and commissioning activities across an assigned project portfolio. You will help ensure that installations are completed in line with programme requirements, commissioning activities are planned and executed effectively, and all associated documentation and quality requirements are delivered to the required standards.
The MEICA Lead will contribute to design development, procurement, commissioning strategy, quality assurance and project performance, while supporting the achievement of programme, cost, safety and environmental objectives.
What you'll be doing:
Provide MEICA leadership and support throughout the full project lifecycle.
Work closely with the MEICA & Commissioning Manager, Project Managers and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Maintain an appropriate site presence to support project requirements and delivery objectives.
Coordinate, review and optimise MEICA technical solutions, ensuring compliance with design specifications, client requirements and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with design teams to ensure project-specific MEICA requirements and commissioning strategies are fully understood and incorporated into designs.
Promote a positive, customer-focused approach in all activities and stakeholder interactions.
Support procurement activities, including the selection of mechanical, electrical and specialist subcontractors.
Assist with achieving client validation milestones and corporate social responsibility commitments.
Apply and promote quality, safety and environmental standards across all project activities.
Carry out safety inspections and contribute to the creation of a safe and inclusive working environment.
Act as a technical interface between the project team and the client.
Provide regular updates to management teams on MEICA and commissioning performance, risks, forecasts and key issues.
Manage technical queries and support robust change control processes.
Promote technical excellence, continuous improvement and the sharing of best practice.
Lead, support and develop team members where applicable.
Contribute to framework supplier selection and procurement strategy development.
Monitor design deliverables to ensure they meet required quality and programme expectations.
Ensure effective integration of supply chain design contributions within the overall project design package.
Support the development and delivery of Project Commissioning Plans, Commissioning Strategies and associated documentation.
Develop commissioning approaches from concept and outline design through to detailed delivery and project handover.
Monitor commissioning documentation and status reporting to ensure alignment with project requirements.
Identify MEICA and commissioning resource requirements early and manage resources effectively throughout delivery.
Collaborate with specialist disciplines, including DSEAR specialists, Technical Authors and Document Controllers, to ensure project requirements are understood and delivered.
Ensure electrical and mechanical safety standards and rules are consistently applied.
Coordinate MEICA and commissioning activities across Galliford Try teams and subcontract partners.
Ensure training requirements are planned and delivered in line with project programmes.
Maintain compliance with all Galliford Try MEICA and commissioning processes and procedures.
Work with Quality teams to develop and implement project quality plans where required.
Ensure commissioning activities are fully integrated into the overall project programme and that regular commissioning meetings are held.
Verify that all MEICA installation work complies with project specifications, client asset standards and relevant industry standards, including WIMES where applicable.
Coordinate and evidence pre-takeover maintenance and operational readiness activities.
Ensure commissioning issues, defects and outstanding works are resolved in a timely manner.
Foster a collaborative, safe and high-performing team environment.
