Lead Business Development Director - Asset Finance - Bank Team

• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and support to colleagues within the AF Bank Team.
• Set objectives, manage performance and conduct regular development and performance reviews.
• Support colleague development through coaching, mentoring and succession planning.
• Lead by example, promoting high standards of customer service, professionalism and risk management.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performing culture focused on accountability, growth and continuous improvement.

• Develop and grow Asset Finance opportunities through Metro Bank's Business Banking and Commercial Banking networks.
• Build strong relationships with Relationship Managers, Business Managers and key internal stakeholders.
• Support the development and execution of the Banking Team's growth strategy.
• Promote Metro Bank's Asset Finance proposition across the Bank and identify opportunities to increase market penetration.
• Share best practice, market insight and sector knowledge with colleagues.

• Lead the structuring, negotiation and execution of larger and more complex transactions.
• Prepare and present high-quality credit applications with clear recommendations.
• Maintain oversight of team pipelines to ensure service levels, quality standards and commercial objectives are achieved.
• Ensure all business is originated within Metro Bank's credit policies, pricing disciplines and risk appetite.
• Support portfolio quality and profitability through effective deal selection and relationship management. Stakeholder Management
  • Act as a senior escalation point for colleagues and internal stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Credit, Risk, Operations and Payout teams to deliver positive customer outcomes.
  • Provide regular pipeline, performance and market feedback to the Regional Director and senior stakeholders

  What you will need:
  • Significant experience in Asset Finance business development.
  • A proven track record of generating profitable Asset Finance growth.
  • Strong understanding of relationship-led business development within a banking environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and networking skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and deal structuring capability.
  • Advanced financial analysis and credit presentation skills.
  • Good understanding of Asset Finance products, documentation and lending principles.
  • Strong risk awareness, judgement and decision-making skills.
