What will you be doing?

As we continue to build on our integration and look to the future, we are looking for an experienced finance leader to join our team as Head of Financial Control and help drive our ambitions forward.

As Head of Financial Control, you’ll provide strategic leadership across our Treasury, Tax and Statutory Reporting functions, ensuring that we maintain the highest standards of financial control, governance, compliance and accountability.

As a key member of the senior finance leadership team, you’ll help to ensure that our assets are protected, short term cash requirements are accurately forecasted and analysed, financial risks are appropriately managed, and external reporting obligations are met to the highest standards.

Working closely with colleagues across Finance and the wider business, you'll help promote a culture of strong governance, robust controls and financial discipline.

You’ll lead the ongoing development of our financial control framework, providing assurance to the CFO, Audit Committee and Board that controls are effective, risks are appropriately managed, and regulatory and accounting requirements are met. From safeguarding balance sheet integrity and overseeing statutory reporting to driving audit activity and supporting strategic treasury decisions, you'll have a broad and varied remit with significant visibility and impact.

This role also offers the opportunity to influence our longer-term financial strategy. You'll oversee treasury operations and liquidity planning, guide tax governance and compliance activities, and help determine optimal funding and capital structures to support sustainable growth and value creation for our Members.

How will I know if I am right for this role?

We are looking for a qualified Accountant who has extensive post-qualification experience gained in senior financial control, reporting, or finance leadership roles. Having operated within large, complex organisations, you’ll bring a proven ability to navigate multiple business units and legal entities while maintaining the highest standards of financial governance, compliance, and control.

Your expertise will span statutory reporting, treasury management, tax oversight, and financial risk management. You’ll have a strong track record of enhancing financial control frameworks, driving governance improvements, and ensuring robust processes that support organisational growth and resilience. You’ll be confident managing external audit relationships and engaging with regulatory bodies, leveraging your knowledge to deliver compliance and strengthen stakeholder confidence.

Together with your technical accounting expertise (IFRS and UK GAAP), you’ll demonstrate a sound understanding of UK corporate taxation, HMRC requirements, treasury operations, and corporate governance principles. You’ll need to be comfortable working with ERP and financial reporting systems and use your analytical mindset to identify issues, evaluate risks, and implement effective solutions.
