Information Technology Support Administrator

IT Administrator Job Description Part‑time Role (22.5 hrs per week) From £24,000 PA (£40k pro rata’ed)

An IT administrator, or systems administrator, is responsible for maintaining and managing a company’s computer networks, servers, and overall IT infrastructure. Their work ensures that systems are secure, run efficiently, and meet the company's technical needs.

• System and network management:
  Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot the company's networks, servers, and other IT systems.
• Hardware and software support:
  Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
• User support:
  Serve as the primary point of contact for all IT-related issues, providing timely and effective technical assistance to end-users.
• Security:
  Implement and enforce security protocols, manage user access controls, and use tools like firewalls and antivirus software to protect the network from threats.
• Data management:
  Oversee data backup, archiving, and disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
• Documentation:
  Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, system procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Deal with 3rd party companies ensuring outsourced contracts are maintained.
• Deal with the companies domain registration/renewals. Ensuring DNS updates are carried out as needed.

• Proven experience in a similar IT administration or technical support role, with at least two years of experience preferred.
• A Level/Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Familiarity with Windows operating systems.
• Experience with server virtualization technologies (e.g., Hyper‑V) and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
