Location: Hove

We’re recruiting for Medical Claims Assessors to join our Group Protection team. You’ll help deliver fair, informed and compassionate decisions for customers at pivotal moments in their lives. With a salary of up to £42,000, depending on experience and a strong benefits package, you will work Monday‑Friday on a hybrid basis in our Hove office.

What you’ll be doing :
  • You’ll provide pro‑active and comprehensive claims assessment and management services for a defined account portfolio, and check liability with your authority level.
  • Assess and triage Group Protection claims, deciding what medical evidence to obtain in line with L&G’s philosophies.
  • Provide a comprehensive assessment of Group Protection claims and determine liability, while meeting the expectations of our clients and stakeholders.
  • Build effective relationships with IFAs and Policyholders (employers) to maximise the effectiveness of our benefit management processes, including support for the portfolio management of defined schemes.
  • Assist in providing Management Data on portfolio accounts that analyses performance and identifies key trends.
  • Train, mentor, and develop other members of the claims team.
  • Develop processes that deliver compliant and consistent levels of service, ensuring our customer and client expectations are met.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written.
  • Analytical and risk‑management skills; ability to be creative and think strategically.
  • Strong claims assessment skills.
