We're looking for a Commercial Manager to join our Southern Water Framework based in Falmer, Brighton.
Location: Falmer, Brighton
Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
This is an exciting senior commercial leadership position supporting Kier's strategic partnership with Southern Water for the AMP8 water-cycle programme. You'll have day-to-day responsibility for the commercial, procurement and financial aspects of the programme, working within an agreed delegated level of authority. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to shape commercial strategy and lead a talented team whilst making a real impact on our water infrastructure projects.
Whatwill you be responsible for?
As a Commercial Manager, you'll be working within the Southern Water Strategic Delivery team, supporting them in managing the commercial, procurement and financial aspects of the AMP8 programme. Your day to day will include:
- Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to advise on commercial strategy, ensuring successful conversion of opportunities and profitability
- Managing and developing a team of commercial staff, identifying talent, training needs and ensuring professional growth
- Producing and presenting high-level commercial reports to board level, accurately outlining the business commercial position, risks and opportunities
- Overseeing the monthly valuation process, financial contingency and maximising cash flow through effective control and measurement
- Assessing, reviewing and mitigating commercial and contractual risks whilst implementing effective risk management strategies
This role of Commercial Manager is great for you if:
- You have a relevant Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying
- You can demonstrate significant experience in a senior commercial capacity within a main contracting environment, preferably in the Water sector or within regulated utilities
- You hold Chartered Status in a relevant professional body or appropriate professional qualification
- You have excellent overall contractual awareness with strong understanding of NEC, JCT conditions, arbitration and adjudication processes
- You have a strong commercial reporting track record with the ability to produce board level reports accurately outlining commercial position, risks and opportunities
