Robotics Adoption Specialist

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced robotics and automation professional to join our talented team of business support experts in the South West of England.

The Robotics Adoption Specialist will provide independent and impartial expert advice to a diverse portfolio of South West based businesses, helping them to identify and successfully adopt robotics and automation technologies - improving productivity and driving business growth.

This varied and rewarding role focuses on providing diagnostic assessments, adoption road-mapping and further intensive 1:1 advice focused on supporting businesses in the development of a robotics business case, project scope, investment requirement and implementation plan.

The ideal candidate is someone who has extensive commercial and industrial robotics/automation experience, a natural communicator with an ability to quickly develop trust, rapport and respect with clients. We seek someone with:

• Recent experience (within 3 years) of business transformation through the adoption and implementation of robotics and automation technologies.
• In touch with latest technological advancements that can be realistically implemented across a wide range of business sizes/types.
• Demonstrable experience of project managing/leading a robotics or automation project from inception to implementation.
• Ability to confidently engage, influence and advise business owners, senior leaders, and technical teams at all levels.
• Proven ability to translate technical solutions into clear business benefits and recommendations.
• Experience of facilitating and presenting effectively to small groups as well as giving confidential advice in a 1:1 setting.
• An eye for detail.
• A sound understanding of Lean or Continuous Improvement
• Ability to work independently and manage a geographically dispersed caseload.
• Excellent IT skills (Microsoft 365, CRM – ideally Hub Spot)
• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to customer sites across the South West is essential for this role.

You will build and maintain strong relationships with businesses across the region, spending time with them on-site to understand their operations, culture, challenges and growth ambitions.

You will deliver structured business diagnostics and robotic capability reviews, producing clear, commercially focused recommendations. This will include advising on robotic solutions that enhance efficiency, quality and operational resilience, while supporting leadership teams to improve robotic awareness and capability across their organisations.

You will guide businesses in making informed decisions about the adoption of new robotic technologies and innovation, offering balanced advice on systems, data-led decision-making and practical implementation. You will also support organisations through change, helping leaders engage their teams and embed new ways of working effectively.

You will harness the opportunities and support from our wider network of robotics partners to add lasting value to the client. You will connect businesses to specialist expertise and funding support where appropriate, and contribute to wider regional engagement activities that strengthen collaboration across the business community.

You will combine hands‑on robotics and automation experience with strong advisory skills and a genuine interest in automation and innovation.

You are likely to have worked within a manufacturing or automation environment, with experience in operational leadership, continuous improvement or cross‑functional collaboration.
