We are seeking a Senior Transportation Planner to join our team to enhance Springfield’s hometown feel while focusing on livability and environmental quality, improving our infrastructure, and fostering an environment that values diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities:

• Identify, seek funding for, and plan capital transportation projects.
• Represent Springfield in regional transportation funding and coordination discussions at the Metropolitan Planning Organization.
• Expand multimodal opportunities including staffing the City’s Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee.
• Designate climate‑friendly areas, shape parking management approach, and update the Transportation System Plan.
• Build relationships across agencies, collaborate with city staff on implementation, and engage the broader community.

• Knowledgeable transportation planner with passion for future‑focused projects.
• Experience managing projects, highly organized, efficient, and a continuous learner.

• Relocation reimbursement for actual costs up to $5,000 if relocating greater than 100 miles.
• Mid‑Senior level.
• Full‑time position.
