Overview
The Hazardous Waste and Toxics Reduction program within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a Toxics Reduction Senior Planner (Environmental Planner
4) position. This position can be located at one of the following offices:
Headquarters Office in Lacey, WA;
Northwest Region Office (NWRO) in Shoreline, WA;
Central Region Office (CRO) in Union Gap, WA; or Eastern Region Office (ERO) in Spokane, WA. Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station. If the final location is Shoreline, WA, there will be an additional 5% pay increase due to King County location; salary range in that case is $6,380 - $8,578 per month.

We protect Washington’s residents and environment by reducing the use of toxic chemicals, safely managing dangerous waste, preventing new contaminated sites, and cleaning up contamination. We’re national leaders in minimizing and eliminating the impacts of toxic chemicals and hazardous waste.
- Lead a team of statewide pollution prevention staff and help create and organize pollution prevention projects and grants.
- Tele-work options: hybrid schedule with up to 90% tele-work eligibility; flexible or compressed schedules may be available and are contingent on position needs.
- Locations:
Lacey, Shoreline, Union Gap, or Spokane (commutable distance required).
- Salary: $72,924.00 - $98,040.00 annually (includes 3% pay increase effective July 1, 2024).
