SNI Technology’s top client located in Brighton, CO is immediately seeking to hire a talented Cloud Systems Engineer for an exciting full-time, 12-month contract position. Please note this position can accommodate a hybrid work environment. Fully remote work is not available for this position.
CLOUD SYSTEMS ENGINEERThe Cloud Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and scalable cloud infrastructure to support the operations of the organization. This role involves optimizing cloud environments, automating deployments, enhancing security, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations. The Cloud Systems Engineer will work closely with IT security, development, and operations teams to ensure high availability and performance of cloud-based systems.
ESSENTIALDUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Architect, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates using Terraform, Cloud Formation, or Ansible to automate cloud deployments.
- Design and implement secure cloud environments aligned with government security frameworks (e.g., NIST, FedRAMP, CJIS).
- Perform cloud performance tuning, cost optimization, and resource scaling to ensure efficiency.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline cloud application deployment.
- Develop and enforce security policies, access controls, and encryption standards for cloud-based systems.
- Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure performance and availability issues.
- Support disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BC) strategies for cloud environments.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to mitigate vulnerabilities and respond to security incidents.
- Document cloud system architectures, processes, and security controls to support audits and compliance requirements.
Technical – Minimum Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in cloud systems engineering, cloud architecture, or Dev Ops.
- Proficiency in cloud automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Formation).
- Strong understanding of cloud environment networking, security, and IAM best practices.
- Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized deployments.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Power Shell, or Bash.
- Experience in implementing government IT compliance and security controls is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications (Preferred): AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Engineer, or similar.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (if applicable).
- U.S. Citizenship or lawful residency as required for government employment.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and security screening.
The compensation for this position is in the range of $48 to $70.53 per hour during the 12-month contract duration of the assignment.
