Responsible for managing restaurant operations, in conjunction with or in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. Uses discretion in daily management decisions with accountability for ensuring effective execution of the Service Profit Chain (SPC) and Brand Promise. Primary responsibilities are to provide excellent internal service, external service, and build restaurant sales and profit while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
KeyDuties / Responsibilities
- Internal Service: Recruits, selects, trains, develops, and evaluates restaurant employees, monitors staffing levels, and ensures compliance with training systems. Creates a friendly, fun, clean, and safe environment and motivates staff to achieve high performance.
- External Service: Manages daily activities to deliver exceptional guest experiences, ensures adherence to JIB systems and food safety rules, and resolves guest concerns promptly.
- Higher Profits: Analyzes operational and financial performance using management information tools; develops action plans to increase sales and profitability while protecting brand standards and adhering to budget.
- Fostering the Culture: Demonstrates passion for the brand, integrity, honesty, and trust; communicates openly and remains calm under pressure.
- Training / Coaching / Development: Motivates employees, provides coaching and development opportunities, and delivers timely performance feedback.
- Guest Focus: Delivers high‑quality service that exceeds guest expectations in a fast‑paced environment.
- Food Quality / Safety: Maintains awareness of food quality, safety, and cleanliness and promotes a strong safety culture.
- Business Management: Manages priorities, delegates tasks, makes sound decisions, and exercises independent judgment on critical business matters.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Education — High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience — Minimum of 1 year as a Shift Leader or Assistant Manager in a customer service environment; 3 years as an Assistant Manager with P&L responsibility for external recruitment. Must be 100% certified in all workstations.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities — Minimum age 18, completion of Assistant Manager training, Serv Safe certification, proficiency in English, basic math, analytical skills, organization, and planning. Must possess valid driver's license and vehicle for operational duties.
Physical RequirementsStand and walk 85‑95% of shift; lift 10‑65 lbs; move freely within the restaurant; operate equipment and computer.
