Logistics Specialist

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily warehouse operations within a manufacturing environment, ensuring timely material supply to production lines and alignment with production schedules.
  • Oversee receiving, storage, picking, kitting, and dispatch of wind turbine components and subassemblies, with a focus on accuracy, safety, and flow efficiency.
  • Coordinate closely with Manufacturing, Production Planning, Quality, and Procurement teams to support seamless operations and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure full compliance with Vestas’ EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards, lean manufacturing practices, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse and material handling teams to meet performance targets and create a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain high standards of inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, stock audits, and root cause analysis of discrepancies.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse layout, internal logistics, space utilization, and material flow to enhance efficiency and support factory performance.
  • Monitor key operational KPIs (e.g., line-feeding performance, inventory turns, warehouse lead times, OTIF) and take corrective actions when needed.
  • Support manufacturing expansion projects, layout changes, and implementation of new tools and technologies (e.g., WMS upgrades, automation solutions).
  • Collaborate with global and regional logistics teams to ensure consistency with Vestas’ global supply chain strategy.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field.
  • At least 5–7 years of warehouse or materials management experience within a manufacturing or industrial setting, preferably in large-scale operations.
  • Solid knowledge of warehouse and factory logistics, including line-feeding, kitting, internal transport, and Kanban or pull systems.
  • Proficiency with WMS and ERP systems (SAP), including reporting and operational planning tools.
  • Fluent in English;
    Spanish or Portuguese depending on location.
  • Comprehensive understanding of EHS practices, lean principles (5S, Kaizen, waste reduction), and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficient in leadership, an engaged working style, and the capacity to manage diverse teams within a constantly changing environment.
  • Availability for occasional travel and flexibility to support different shifts or weekend operations if required.

Salary: $85,000-$100,000/year
