CDL A Driver

We are currently seeking candidates for a full-time position as a CDL A Driver. This role will require candidates to often drive long distances, either in-state or cross-country delivering large Caterpillar engines and other possible cargo. Candidates must possess a commercial driver’s license, and they must be trained in safe driving best practices.

The candidates will often assist with loading and unloading the trailer. This position requires strict attention to detail and time management.

• Long-distance driving (across country borders when applicable)
• Communicating and coordinating with dispatchers
• Obeying and following applicable traffic laws
• Securing and tarping cargo (trailer comes tarped) and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle
• Maintaining a detailed log of working hours in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Maintain daily safety checklist and perform all required inspections and ensure any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving
• Responsible for delivery of freight and pick-up, as needed
• Ensure safe and timely loading and unloading products; secures loads; and ensure accurate deliveries
• Responsible for updating the on-board computer, as required
• Maintains electronic logbook and complete trip reports
• Manage Proof of Delivery Paperwork from customers
• Provides outstanding customer service and processes and communicates customer issues
• Provides quality/ damage inspection of product at loading and unloading stages
• Performs cleaning requirements for tractor and performs minor maintenance of equipment as required
• Working in cold environmental conditions

• High School Diploma
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License

• Minimum 22 Years of Age
• 3 Years with No Moving Violation
• Safe Driving Record:
  Including no DUIs in last 7 years; no more than one preventable accident or one violation of motor vehicle laws within the year preceding application
• Clean MVR
• Medical Card
• Ability to Pass Drug Test
• Good Customer Service Skills
• Heavy Haul Experience is a Must

• 2+ years of experience driving and operating a Class 8 Heavy Duty Tractor
• Basic computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Applications
