Job Title: Senior Field Service Specialist - EV

Summary: Performs complex electrical apparatus work onsite at customer facilities. This includes electrical testing, preventative maintenance, commissioning, upgrades, and repairs to electrical apparatus. Responsible for troubleshooting, training, establishing LOTO, interacting with customers, report writing, and related activities.

• Execute mechanical and electrical tasks on equipment utilized in power transmission, distribution, and generation at customer facilities.
• Read and interpret manuals, schematics, and write diagrams to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean all components in a substation.
• Lead tasks in transformer testing (Power factor, TTR, insulation resistance, SFRA, winding resistance, partial discharge, and leakage reactance).
• Lead cable testing (Insulation resistance, tan delta, hipot, TDR, partial discharge, and cable thumper).
• Lead circuit breaker testing (Insulation resistance, contact resistance, power factor, breaker timing, SF6 gas analysis, CT testing, high current testing, secondary injection testing, and vacuum bottle integrity testing).
• Test both electrical-mechanical and solid-state relays.
• Participate in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment.
• Plan, participate in, and develop safety meetings and training.
• Support management in the planning, scheduling, execution, and cost management of field projects.

• Familiar with industry standards such as NETA, NFPA 70E, OSHA compliance standards, safety laws, and DOT regulations.
• Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical problems.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Strong PC skills including email, internet, data entry, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well under pressure to meet goals and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently, while utilizing excellent judgment.
• Doble DTAF and Power DB knowledge is preferred; training will be provided.
• Consistently on time for daily work assignments, meetings, training, etc.
• Demonstrates organizational skills including on-time reporting of time and expenses, weekly status reports, and other documentation and reporting requirements.
• Maintains tools, test equipment, and vehicles in clean and organized condition and up to date with service and calibrations.

• Willing to relocate within 60 miles of the hiring regional office.
• Corporate hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm; some hours outside normal business hours may be required depending on scope of work.
• Work around live electrical substations with safety to be observed.
• Ability to work overtime, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
• Ability to travel on overnight, multi-day, out-of-town projects.
• Rotate emergency on-call duties and respond to customer emergencies in a timely manner.

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology, or Military experience is preferred but not required.
• At least 10 years of experience in electrical substation testing, construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, assembly, and commissioning.
• Ability to achieve NETA level III or IV within 6 months of employment.
• Project management experience and ability to support management in planning, scheduling, execution, and cost management of field projects.

• Must pass pre-employment background and motor vehicle checks.
• Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test, plus periodic unannounced random testing.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to obtain an endorsement to operate a vehicle up to 26k lbs.
• Must be able to lift and maneuver at least 50 lbs.
• Willingness to obtain company-paid TWIC card, OSHA 10/30 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70E, and CPR training.
