LOCATION: Brighton, MI – requires moderate travel (≈40%)

Application- and Support Engineer for Large Format Polymer Additive Manufacturing. Lead execution of projects, operate and service Krauss‑Maffei AM equipment, support sales, and maintain uptime of client AM machinery.

• Ensure successful execution of all assigned projects—exceed quality targets and on‑time performance.
• Operate and service Krauss‑Maffei AM equipment to achieve high‑quality prints on demand and benchmark material qualifications within expected timelines.
• Support sales with 3D design expertise, practical build strategies, and technical capability insights for customer expectations.
• Plan, create, and maintain detailed project schedules; follow up on actual performance against estimates.
• Provide solution‑oriented support to customers via phone, online, and onsite to repair, maintain, and secure uptime for AM machinery.
• Attend events (trade shows, open houses, customer meetings) to present AM technology.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and other department managers to define task assignments and schedules for assigned projects.
• Ensure job schedules are adhered to and achieved by all necessary personnel.
• Support Pre‑Sales activities by providing time‑and‑material estimates and other information to win customer projects.
• Visit specific locations/customers as requested by the customer, sales force, project manager, or management.
• Execute and manage print‑on‑demand orders from start to finish, communicating regularly with clients and internal departments to ensure project success.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

The role operates in a professional office environment at our Florence, KY or Brighton, MI facility. Standard office equipment (computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines) is used, creating low‑to‑moderate noise.

• Stand, sit at a computer terminal for extended periods, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach, stoop, and kneel.
• Close vision required due to computer work.
• Moderate lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Maintain a constant state of alertness.

Full‑time, salaried, exempt level. Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm with additional time as necessary. Long hours, evenings, nights, and weekends may be required.

Moderate travel (≈40%)—local and during business days. Some overnight travel and international travel (e.g., Germany) possible for training or conferences.

• Technical degree in mechanical or plastic engineering, with qualification in additive manufacturing.
• Extensive experience in CAM software tools (Siemens NX CAM) and slicers (Cura, Simplify3D, Magics, AI Build, Auto Desk, etc.).
• Desirable knowledge in milling.
• Experience in additive manufacturing field.
• Process an independent, analytical, results‑oriented approach, with flexibility.
• Valid driver’s license.
