We are seeking a Buyer / Planner to manage procurement, inventory, and supplier relationships while ensuring timely material availability and cost optimization. This role is critical in driving performance across sourcing, forecasting, and supplier management while supporting operational excellence and compliance.
Responsibilities- Understand market trends, supply chain dynamics, and competitive landscape to inform sourcing decisions.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams.
- Independently create, manage, and track purchase orders using ERP systems.
- Forecast demand using historical data, market signals, and statistical tools.
- Set and adjust MRP parameters (lead time, safety stock, reorder points).
- Monitor supplier performance and execute scorecards and improvement initiatives.
- Balance inventory levels to meet service goals while minimizing carrying costs.
- Manage logistics decisions for timely delivery and cost efficiency.
- Execute root cause analysis and corrective actions for supply disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Maintain ethical sourcing practices and data integrity.
- Education:
College degree required; if no degree, 4+ years of relevant, equivalent experience. - Experience:
3+ years of functional experience in procurement, planning, or supply chain. - Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Financial acumen with understanding of budgeting and total cost of ownership.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement platforms.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of inventory management processes and MRP logic.
- Developing knowledge of regulatory compliance and audit practices.
