As a Gauge Tech, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and calibrating measuring instruments and gauges to ensure they meet accuracy standards, performing maintenance and repairs as needed.
Job Description:
Monitor gauge compliance with company and industry standards (e.g., ISO, API), support product and process audits, and troubleshoot quality‑related issues on the production floor.
Hiring Full‑Time Quality Gauge Technician for 1st shift! DIRECT HIRE Position.
Responsibilities Include:
- Calibration & Maintenance: Calibrate, test, and repair precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and thread gauges.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed calibration records, track gauge inventory, and generate calibration certificates for internal and external use.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor gauge compliance with company and industry standards (e.g., ISO, API), support product and process audits, and troubleshoot quality‑related issues on the production floor.
- Technical
Skills:
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). - Inventory Management: Manage the flow of gauges, send them to external vendors for calibration when needed, and maintain a log of internal and external gauge tracking.
- Problem‑Solving: Identify and address issues with measurement accuracy and process efficiency.
Qualifications Include:
- Technical Aptitude:Proficient in using precision measuring equipment.
- Attention to Detail:A meticulous eye for detail is crucial to ensure accuracy in measurements.
- Computer
Skills:
Ability to use computer calibration software and maintain digital records. - Education:A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required, with an Associate's degree in metrology or quality control preferred.
- Communication
Skills:
Effectively communicate with production staff and other departments. - Clean & Organize: Clean and Organize Inspection Gaging and Check Fixtures.
- Lead or Work Special Projects: Implement Inspection Work Cell Improvements.
- Following Supervisor & Quality Manager Directions
- Problem‑Solving:Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are essential for resolving technical challenges.
- Previously worked in Automotive and Aerospace Inspection Environment
- Previous Quality Gauge Technician experience required
- Standing and repetitive bending and twisting
