General Purpose

The Retail Associate ensures customers have a positive shopping experience by greeting them, maintaining a clean work area, and presenting merchandise properly. The associate performs all store functions as needed and may be asked to assist with additional tasks to meet operational goals.

Essential Functions
  • Practices safe behaviors and maintains a clutter‑free sales floor.
  • Treats customers and associates with respect and courtesy; uses company recognition programs.
  • Assists customers, is register‑trained, answers questions politely, and greets all customers with eye contact and a smile.
  • Responds promptly to customer service calls and handles issues courteously, involving store leadership when necessary.
  • Represents and supports the company brand at all times.
  • Performs cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, disinfecting high‑touch areas).
  • Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the dress code.
  • Performs daily assigned sizing and recovery per best practice.
  • Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandises per guidelines, and maintains brand familiarity.
  • Understands loss‑prevention programs, shortage protocols, and merchandise protection standards.
  • Safeguards confidential, cash, and credit card information.
  • Follows mark‑out‑of‑stock policies and cash handling procedures.
  • Demonstrates urgency and maximizes productivity by executing best practices and minimizing workflow steps.

Qualifications And Special Skills
  • Effectively communicates with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, and cooperative manner.
  • Performs basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail.
Physical Requirements /Ada
  • Uses store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
  • Spends up to 100 % of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
  • Bends at the waist, squats, kneels, climbs, carries, reaches, and stoops regularly.
  • Pushes, pulls, and lifts more than 25 lb occasionally; more than 20 lb for stockroom shifts.
  • Uses janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies.
  • Other assignments may require additional qualifications and skills.
