Clinical Psychologist – Ad-hoc hours contract only. Hourly rate £75‑£100.

Location:

perform assessments at the nearest clinic – over 250 locations across England and Wales, typically within an hour of your doorstep.

Clinical Psychologist with at least 12 months of post‑qualification experience and HCPC registration under “Clinical OR Forensic Psychologist”. No previous medico‑legal experience required as training will be provided. You should have excellent assessment and administration skills, a strong understanding of psychological assessment tools, and hands‑on experience in therapies such as CBT, EMDR or similar cognitive treatments, working with children, adults or both.

You will carry out evaluations for Medico‑legal, personal injury, crime‑related or immigration cases. The focus is assessment and diagnosis; you will not implement treatment but will recommend diagnostic and prognostic plans and suitable therapy courses. You will work on behalf of insurers, courts and solicitors, assessing individuals’ mental health and capacity to stand trial, face deportation or file personal injury claims.

You must be familiar with conditions such as PTSD, sleep deprivation, anxiety, flashbacks, and depression.

Reports are written by legal secretaries; most cases are low value, so your main task is to validate the report. Patient health records and generalised anxiety disorder forms are available for preparation; you will only need to back‑date medical records to the incident or offence.

• Client is a panel provider; you will only work when an instruction within your remit and area is available.
• Commuting: all experts must meet patients on site at the nearest clinic to your address.
• Expenses: fuel expenditure is paid up to a certain mileage.
• Proof of qualifications: diploma, bachelor’s or master’s degree.
• Indemnity insurance: you must cover your own indemnity insurance, up to £5 million, including medico‑legal coverage.
• ICO certified or willing to apply, to work as a self‑employed or sole trader.
