Technical Manager – The Company

This is a developer-led environment, but with a practical, build-focused mindset — ideal for someone who understands residential delivery from both sides.

Technical Manager

– The Role

You will take full technical ownership of multiple residential developments from pre-construction through delivery and handover, working closely with land, commercial, construction and external consultant teams. The role is hands-on, autonomous, and trusted — not buried in layers of process.

Key responsibilities include:

* Day-to-day technical management of residential schemes

* Managing consultants (architects, engineers, employers agents, NHBC, utilities)

* Overseeing planning conditions, technical approvals and discharge strategy

* Driving design coordination through RIBA stages 3–5

* Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, NHBC and local authority requirements

* Supporting JV and affordable housing partners on technical matters

* Resolving technical and buildability issues during construction

* Maintaining programme, quality and cost control from a technical standpoint

* This role suits someone who enjoys owning projects, not just administering drawings.

About You

Residential experience is essential.

You will likely have:

* A background with a residential developer, house builder or main contractor

* Strong experience on new-build housing and/or apartment schemes

* Exposure to affordable housing and JV projects (highly desirable)

* Solid understanding of Building Regulations, NHBC standards and planning processes

* Experience managing post-contract technical delivery (not just front-end design)

* A practical, delivery-focused mindset

* Relevant qualifications (HNC / HND / Degree or equivalent) are preferred but experience and competence matter more.
