Position: Manufacturing Engineer (Contract)
Location: Filton

On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer on a 12-month contract. You will act as a Manufacturing Engineering Integrator, supporting the Industrial Architects team in the preparation and assembly of wing research and technology demonstrators.

Responsibilities

Development and delivery of an industrial plan for wing research demonstrator projects
Providing input to manufacturing project change processes by assessing the impact of design changes to manufacturing cost and schedule
Liaison with production team on topics such as scheduling and operational resource planning
Working with the jigs and tooling team to ensure enablement of jig design and delivery
Working with tooling and component suppliers to ensure adherence to planning and management of changes
Generation and validation of manufacturing capability documentation
Working across the design and manufacturing interface to assure and validate Condition of Supply agreements
Managing and planning detailed delivery specifications to ensure Quality Assurance requirements are met and validated
Working across the Manufacturing Engineering team to ensure alignment of schedule and facilitate information sharing
Essential & Desirable

Skills:

Experience of working in a manufacturing engineering or production environment and familiarity with production processes
Knowledge and experience of aerospace structures (understanding the key structural components and manufacturing techniques associated with aircraft wings)

Experience of and competency in the use of CAD tools, specifically CATIA V5
Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear, simple way
Ability to work autonomously and act as an interface between different areas of the design and manufacturing team
Fluency with standard office IT tools (Airbus uses Google Suite)
A strong team working ethic
