Location: Filton

Technical Writer

On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit a Technical Writer on a 6‑month contract. Salary: £45 per hour via umbrella.

Location:

Filton (60% onsite after training).

Contract:

Monday‑Friday, 35 hours per week. IR35 status:
Inside. Security clearance: BPSS.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all authoring activities for the Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM) and Troubleshooting Manual (TSM) for Landing Gears.
  • Analyze inputs (drawings, design modifications) to assess impact on maintenance manuals delivered to airlines.
  • Plan, verify and incorporate source data; ensure technical accuracy and compliance with Airbus policies.
  • Respond to technical request tool queries and provide customer support to meet maintenance and operational needs.
  • Monitor and steer subcontracted maintenance authoring activities; lead regular review meetings with Design Office and subcontractors.
  • Produce and update documentation in line with specifications, contractual commitments, schedules and budgets.
  • Ensure safety, quality and technical data guidelines are met; secure compliance with M20528/C1 Incoming Inspection.
  • Provide customer support for in‑service issues and aircraft on‑ground incidents; offer proactive solutions.
  • Identify and propose continuous improvement initiatives for technical data processes, production activities and IT tools.
  • Represent the department at transnational decision‑making meetings and provide customer feedback.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in aircraft maintenance, systems and production processes.
  • Knowledge of international authoring standards, tools and aircraft configuration management.
  • Strong communication, assertiveness and team‑player skills.
  • Dynamic, proactive and positive mindset; risk and opportunity management skills.
  • Ability to follow up activities and maintain organization.
