Mechanical Engineer, AJAX

Overview

Provide engineering support across three core technical domains:
Operational Environment, Deployment, Mobility. Work closely with the prime contractor, safety team, and in‑service team while supporting trials activity and occasional contractor site visits.

• Operational Environment: collective protection, environmental control, heating systems, and habitability.
• Deployment: rail, air, and sea transportation, tie‑down schemes, and related logistical engineering issues.
• Mobility: running gear, suspension, tracks, and vehicle performance.
• Ensure resolution of domain‑related issues and concerns.
• Raise and manage emerging issues with the Safety Team.
• Provide SME support to the In‑Service Team for resolving domain‑related questions.
• Support related trials activity and undertake occasional visits to contractor sites.
• Undertake other discrete tasks related to the technical domains as required.
• Work towards closure of all domain‑related System Requirements within the Demonstration Phase of the programme.
• Manage outstanding domain issues by IOC, with in‑service solutions and management plans provided to the In‑Service Team.

• Previous AJAX programme experience.
• Familiarity with AJAX vehicles and/or armoured vehicles.

Demonstrates expertise in engineering support for operational environments, deployment logistics, and vehicle mobility, focusing on resolving domain‑related issues and ensuring compliance with system requirements.
