Location: Hybrid - 2-3 days/week at MOD Abbey Wood, with 1-2 days remote

Rate: Up to £550/day (Inside IR35)

Duration: ASAP - 31/03/2027

Overview

The Nuclear Propulsion Infrastructure team are a multi-disciplinary team and are part of Nuclear Propulsion Delivery Team, under the Technical Directorate. The team works closely with Submarine Acquisition Capability to deliver the Submarine Build Modernisation (SBM) - Raynesway programme.

The team directly support commitments made under the AUKUS programme to deliver Nuclear Steam Raising Plants at an increased manufacturing drumbeat while maintaining commitments to deliver the nation's nuclear deterrent. This is achieved through development and delivery of critical infrastructure, essential for the manufacture of Nuclear Steam Raising Plants to the nation's submarine enterprise and international partners.

Key Tasks and Deliverables

  • Managing the delivery of key infrastructure. - Delivery of infrastructure on time and within budget.
  • Manage the technical requirements for the acquisition lifecycle stage of infrastructure. - Technical requirements defined, agreed and managed.
  • Monitor and implement governance and assurance policies and procedures, including the production of business cases and justification of key infrastructure requirements. - Production of governance documentation including business cases.
  • Interface with industry as the intelligent customer both in a scrutiny role and supporting the identification of application risks. - Associated programme deliverables achieved and effective risk management.

Essential Experience / Skills

  • Experience in delivering infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in requirements management.
  • Experience in programme management, project engineering or systems engineering.

Ability to produce business cases.

Additional Information

This role sits within SDA - In Service Submarines and the Nuclear Propulsion team.

Regular office working pattern of 2-3 days attending MOD Abbey Wood, with 1-2 days remote.
