The Filton Plant Manufacturing Engineering team is at the heart of all our tasks, working with every function to turn design intent into production reality. We provide production support, develop new technologies for cost reduction and efficiency, and work on new product introductions.
As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work in Operations, Technical, and Support Functions. Your placement can cover projects such as the A400M, A350 Metallic, and other Research & Technology initiatives.
We are a pioneering and innovative team of experienced engineers, covering a wide range of subjects from strategy, production support, and project management to manufacturing technologies, digitisation, Lean, and production planning. This gives you a wide spectrum of opportunities across various wing-related subjects.

What you will be doing- You will gain experience across the whole wing and sub assembly process along with gaining a good overview of the current manufacturing process along with developing future solutions;
- The tasks will be varied and require you to use different skills (technical, project management, communication etc.) in order to complete them successfully;
- You will initiate and support activities within the team along with working with Quality, Operations, finance and other functions;
- Manufacturing Engineering is a crucial link with the design organisation and production, therefore you will need to build relationships with stakeholder from across multiple functions, taking differing views in to consideration, soliciting different views always with the customer in mind;

Our placements are open to undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

- Studying towards a degree in Engineering, a Technical field, or equivalent;
- You have the ability to listen, understand and communicate information;
- You have a strong interest in developing yourself;
- You are interested in finding creative solutions to complex problems.
You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
