We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing Managed Print and IT Solutions provider that is recognised for delivering exceptional service and support to businesses across the UK.
Due to continued growth, they're looking to appoint a Senior Printer Field Service Engineer who will not only provide expert technical support to customers but also play a key role in mentoring a small team of engineers.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working autonomously, solving complex technical problems and building long-term customer relationships while developing their leadership skills.
The RoleAs a Senior Printer Field Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of printers and multifunction devices (MFDs) at customer sites, ensuring maximum uptime and exceptional service delivery.
Working independently across your region, you'll become the trusted technical expert for customers while providing guidance and support to junior engineers within the team.
The role offers a varied workload, combining fault diagnosis, preventative maintenance, installations and customer training, making every day different.
Key Responsibilities- Install, configure and commission printers, multifunction devices (MFDs) and associated software solutions.
- Diagnose and repair hardware and software faults across a wide range of print devices.
- Carry out preventative maintenance to maximise device reliability and performance.
- Respond promptly to service calls, delivering high first-time fix rates.
- Provide onsite and remote technical support to customers.
- Manage vehicle stock and parts inventory effectively.
- Maintain accurate service records and technical documentation.
- Escalate complex issues to manufacturers or senior technical teams when required.
- Mentor, coach and support junior field engineers.
- Build strong relationships with customers through exceptional service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and Health & Safety regulations.
- Produce clear documentation, technical guides and maintenance records.
We're looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer with a strong background in managed print solutions and excellent customer-facing skills.
Ideally you'll have experience with:
- Servicing printers and multifunction devices within a field-based environment.
- Canon, Sharp, Epson, Lexmark, HP and Ricoh print solutions.
- Printer networking, TCP/IP, print servers and driver deployment.
- Hardware and software fault diagnosis.
- Print management software and document workflow solutions (desirable).
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Relevant manufacturer or technical certifications (advantageous).
- A full UK Driving Licence.
