Salary: £78,000 - 78,000 per year
Requirements- Strong background in software engineering, including software realisation and understanding of system-wide impact.
- Experience working in C++.
- Collaborative, open approach to development with the ability to work well in a team and maintain momentum during development.
- Experience working across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements engagement through to automated integration, proving, and documentation.
- Experience with new tools, techniques, and approaches that improve efficiency and sustainability.
- Experience in other languages such as Ada and Qt.
- Knowledge of DDS middleware and real-time operating systems.
- Knowledge of standards such as Def Stan 00-55, DO-178C, or IEC
61508. - Familiarity with restricted coding standards such as MISRA
C. - Ability to work onsite in Bristol four days per week, with a four-day working week considered.
- Experience supporting mission-critical or defence software systems is highly desirable.

- We work within a small team environment while also empowering individual contribution with little supervision.
- We engage with requirement authorities and support the full software development process.
- We carry software through automated target integration and proving activities.

We are a world leader in missile and missile systems, based in Bristol, developing mission-critical defence software within a growing and dynamic team. This is a 12-month subcontract opportunity with a very likely extension, and contracts are often ongoing and long-term thereafter. The role is inside IR35, offered at a rate of 65.00 per hour with overtime paid at time and a quarter for hours worked over the standard 37-hour week.
We work onsite four days per week, and a four-day working week from Monday to Thursday is acceptable. We use a one-stage video interview process and offer the opportunity to join a highly capable development facility working on critical systems.
