Accounting Specialist

A well-established manufacturer in the Bristol, CT area is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join its team. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, family-oriented environment.

Location:

Bristol, CT area

Reports to:

Controller/CFO

Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
• Code and enter AP invoices into the ERP system
• Prepare AP check runs
• Process daily AR invoicing and cash receipts, including checks and ACH payments
• Research and resolve customer and vendor invoice discrepancies
• Monitor past-due accounts
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including general ledger support
• Maintain accurate accounting records and assist with audits
• Provide backup support to the Controller

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Strong AP and AR experience required
• Experience working in an ERP system
• Strong understanding of general accounting procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
