Assistant Professor in Immersive Arts / Media

We are seeking an innovative Assistant Professor in Immersive Arts / Media to join the University of Bristol’s Mumbai Enterprise Campus (MEC) – a flagship transnational education initiative launching in 2026. This is a unique opportunity to shape cutting‑edge curriculum, lead research in immersive technologies, and contribute to the University’s global academic reputation.

• Design and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in immersive arts and emerging creative technologies, including VR/AR/XR, interactive storytelling, and digital media. Contribute to programme design, accreditation, and innovative teaching strategies that enhance student experience and employability.
• Lead independent research projects, publish in high‑impact journals, and pursue research funding. Supervise student theses and creative projects while building interdisciplinary collaborations across the University network.
• Participate in faculty committees, student recruitment, and quality assurance processes. Build industry and academic partnerships, and contribute to institutional development and capacity‑building initiatives.

• You hold a PhD in immersive arts/media, VR/AR/XR, interactive or spatial storytelling, or a closely related field.
• You have proven ability to teach at a high standard and an emerging track record of scholarly research.
• You demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, and collaborative skills.
• You have practical experience in immersive experience design, XR performance/installation, interactive narrative, or virtual environment design.
• You are familiar with tools and technologies such as Unity, Unreal Engine, Autodesk Maya, Blender, motion capture, photogrammetry, spatial audio, and VR/AR hardware.
