summaryto provide a resource to administration and staff in regard to student behavior. To assist the school staff in effectively using all appropriate resources to improve the learning environment for students.

- obtains information orally or in written form from designated school personnel regarding students' school records as it relates to behavior and interventions.
- maintains a professional awareness of regulations regarding child welfare and attendance by having a working knowledge of state law, board policy and administrative regulations.
- works closely with guidance counselors and administrators in the identification and counseling of students.
- presents a positive image of the school to parents and conveys to them the school's genuine concern with education, growth and development of each child.
- serves as a channel of communication for relaying the concerns, thoughts and attitudes of parents and the general public to the school.

education and/or experience- college degree preferred.
- high school diploma or general education degree (ged) required.
- experience working with children will be strongly considered in lieu of a college degree.
- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of american money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
- basic knowledge and experience with job related computer hardware and software applications.
- ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community. Ability to perform duties with awareness of district requirements and board of education policies.
