Registered Behavior Technician in Bristol, CT

Step into a vital role supporting children in Autism Program Classrooms at a respected educational facility near Bristol, CT. This contract opportunity is designed to bridge services while permanent staff are onboarded, offering the chance to make meaningful connections and a real difference in a one-month assignment.

As a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or experienced Para educator, you’ll work one-on-one or in small groups with students aged 5-6 who have significant autism spectrum disorder (ASD) needs. Compassion, patience, and adaptability are key to ensuring a safe, nurturing learning environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active RBT certification or valid Connecticut Para educator Certificate
  • Prior experience in autism program classrooms is essential
  • Skilled and comfortable working with young children (5-6 years old) exhibiting severe ASD
  • Willingness to assist with toileting and diapering as needed
  • Ability to follow behavior intervention plans and collaborate with educators and therapists

Responsibilities:

  • Support students in daily classroom routines and therapeutic activities
  • Implement behavior intervention strategies as directed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts
  • Provide personal care, including toileting and diaper changes, with dignity and care
  • Document and report on student progress and behavior
  • Maintain a positive, supportive presence that fosters growth and engagement for every child
