Overview

Responsible for daily operations of a storage center within a designated territory. Direct day‑to‑day operations and associates, meet customers’ expectations, manage daily routing and driver assignments, and maintain OSHA, DOT, and preventative maintenance programs for the storage center and driver equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Leading Associates
  • Recruit, interview, hire, train, identify, and retain top talent.
  • Provide daily support including coaching and hands‑on/ride‑along training.
  • Support a culture aligned with PODS core values (Integrity, Delighting Customers, Engagement, Accountability, Support Through Teamwork).
  • Effectively administer PODS performance management process.
  • Report employee issues to Territory Manager and Regional HRBP promptly; maintain ongoing communication on personnel matters.
  • Provide regular communication of goals, results, improvement opportunities, and key focus areas.
  • Ensure daily pre‑shift meetings at each storage center.
Customers
  • Manage customer experience to meet or exceed PODS CSAT and DSAT goals, including follow‑up, issue resolution, direct contact, process refinement, and remedial training.
  • Ensure all associates meet brand standards (uniforms, containers, equipment) and customer interaction protocols.
Operational Excellence
  • Manage all corporate owned assets within territory (trucks, forklifts, floor sweepers, containers, etc.).
  • Manage daily routing and ETA/JPH performance; communicate delays to Sales and Serve Center.
  • Determine daily needs based on routing; assign work shifts based on business needs and available HOS.
  • Coordinate repairs per Territory Manager; handle damage paperwork and customer container access.
  • Ensure accurate completion of daily driver checklist/DDC, forklift inspection logs, and driver log books.
  • Maintain safe, clean, organized storage centers and staging areas.
  • Ensure equipment repairs are safe, prompt, and meet PODS Out of Service targets.
  • Perform driver functions when required.
Regulatory / Compliance
  • Ensure DOT requirements, HOS regulations, and licensing compliance.
  • Ensure OSHA, state, and local facility compliance.
  • Adhere to local zoning codes, permits, and manage municipal relations.
  • Ensure deliveries meet regulatory requirements and obtain necessary permits.
  • Participate in quarterly self‑audits; identify improvement areas.
  • Adhere to internal policies (Incident Reports, Drug Screening, HR safety policies).
  • Manage day‑to‑day operations with a focus on efficiency.
  • Manage petty cash per PODS policy.
  • Ensure refueling equipment is safe, compliant, and cost‑effective.
  • Perform monthly parts inventory reconciliation.
Other Duties
  • Travel frequently to storage centers throughout territory.
  • Perform additional assigned duties.
Management & Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Reports to Territory Manager.
  • Directly responsible for hiring/termination, pay decisions, and performance management.
  • Supervises Storage Center, Equipment Maintenance, and Delivery Driver Staff.
  • Previous union management experience required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience Requirements
  • High School diploma required; college degree preferred or at least 1 year of prior management experience.
  • Preferred CDL Class B License or higher.
  • Valid driver license in the state of assignment.
  • Required PODS forklift certification.
  • Preferred valid DOT medical card.
  • Mechanical ability essential for equipment troubleshooting.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Sit at a desk up to 8 hrs; type and use a mouse.
  • Stand and walk up to 8 hrs; stoop, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Occasionally stand, walk, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Vision: close, peripheral, focus adjustment.
  • Reach with hands and arms; talk and hear;
  • Use telephone handset.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Regular business hours; additional hours may be required (weekends).
  • Travel within local territory.
  • Storage centers climate‑controlled; deliveries in all weather; high noise.
  • Background, drug screening, and random drug screenings per policy.
