HVAC Service Technician

Shaffer Beacon Mechanical is a locally family-owned and operated company, located in Granby and Bristol, Connecticut. We support our neighbors and communities throughout Central CT, by providing superior customer service. Our team of professionals are experienced, highly trained, and fully equipped to service, repair or replace existing heating and cooling equipment in Residential and Commercial properties. We also provide plumbing and fuel oil delivery services.

• Connecticut S, D or B License (preferred, not required)
• OSHA 10 Certificate (minimum)
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Able to lift 50 – 75 lbs from floor level.
• Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision.

The HVAC Service Technician position will primarily be responsible for performing routine & emergency service, cleanings, maintenance, and safety inspections on residential and commercial heating and air conditioning systems. Applicant must be experienced and capable of performing service on oil burners, natural and propane gas-fired equipment, furnaces and air conditioning systems. Experience with air to air heat pumps, and packaged roof-tops also a plus.

Successful candidates will be required to be part of the “on-call” rotation to handle 24/7 emergency service. Position will also be involved in new system installations as needed.

Bonus Qualifications or

Experience:

HVAC system 10+ Ton, Package Chillers, additionally advanced controls experience is extremely helpful.

• Must be a motivated self-starter
• Able to work with little or no supervision
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions in English and perform basic mathematics
• High School Diploma /GED and 5 years minimum experience required

Position is hourly with overtime and requires flexibility in schedule to meet seasonal demands.
