Senior Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Position Summary

We are looking for a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician to join our Retail team in various Walmart facilities. In this role you will support and oversee the repair and maintenance of the Walmart Refrigeration HVAC equipment, using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills as well as hand, power, and digital tools.

Base pay range: $26.00/hr - $56.00/hr

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive repair work orders and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, and test facilities, equipment or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by following Walmart Refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds; move up and down ladders and work comfortably at heights frequently.

• 10 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I/Type II or Universal EPA Certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR.
• At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.

• 8 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and an AAS in A/C and Refrigeration.
• Completion of a 2‑year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or a 2‑year associate’s of applied science in A/C and Refrigeration.
• Excellent driving record.
• Prior work experience with glycol and CO₂ systems.
