Under the direction of the Dean of the Extension School, the Continuing Education (CE) Instructor will be responsible for conducting non‑degree professional certificate programs, courses, and seminars for non‑credit individuals and organizations through the Extension School – Center for Professional Development. CE Instructors will offer flexible formats, employing state‑of‑the‑art practices ranging from intensive sessions focused on various areas of interest to professional certificates that are innovative, integrated, relevant and competency based, to personal development programs covering a range of topics.

• Develop and conduct non‑credit professional development (PD) offerings.
• Design and develop a high quality continuing education offering and provide a detailed outline of each session.
• Complete the CE offering description form that includes course description, instructional methods, objectives, required texts, projects, expectations of students, course details and instructor contact information (including an RWU email address).
• Issue a grade in accordance with the approved CPD grade scheme upon the completion of the CE session and create and issue signed certificates, CEUs, etc. issued by dean of continuing studies as required.
• Distribute, collect and evaluate student/participant satisfaction surveys to determine the effectiveness of the continuing education offering(s).

• Expertise in the specific field or profession.
• Knowledge of conducting trainings and/or professional development to adult learners.

• Recognized as a leader or expert in the specific field of professional development.
• Master's or Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline, as necessary.
• At the University's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the University, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
