Overview
Senior Naval Architect for Underwater Systems at Composite Energy Technologies. This role focuses on design, analysis, and development of underwater systems and components.
Responsibilities- Produce drawings for concepts, tooling, lamination, finishing, installation, and quality
- Carry out Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Produce reports summarizing analysis results and provide feedback to refine concept-level designs to improve performance, strength, and safety
- Accelerate product development processes to meet internal and external customer requirements
- Build, run, and analyze FEA simulations to optimize design and adhere to internal and external quality standards
- Approve drawings
- Develop presentations for internal and external purposes
- Assist with developing and maintaining schedules and task priorities
- Provide support to the CNC team, production, and quality departments to ensure customer requirements are met
Required Education And Experience
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering or related field
- Experience in the design of unmanned underwater vehicles
- Minimum 5 years of experience in design, engineering, and/or manufacturing
- Proficient experience with Ansys FEA
- Proficient experience with AutoCAD, Rhino, and Solid Works
- Knowledge and experience in composite production and manufacturing processes and techniques
- Knowledge of composite raw materials
- Technical drawing experience
- Solid computer skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Masters Degree in Engineering or related field
- Experience in a supervisory or leadership role
- Knowledge of prepreg composite manufacturing
- Knowledge of manufacturing machines and tools
- Experience with systems design and systems integration
- Experience working with or on government contracts

Work EnvironmentThis position requires time spent on the shop floor and exposure to shop elements including noise, moving parts, dust and fumes. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work in noisy and dust-filled spaces, climb on and around large structures, lift heavy materials, sit or stand for extended periods of time.
PositionType & Expected Work Hours
This is a full-time salaried position, Monday through Friday, during normal working hours.
TravelOccasional travel is expected for this position.
