The Engineering Manager will oversee all engineering departments in the company. This position will manage the oversight and growth of the mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineering groups. Additionally, this position will require personnel management for meeting technical and schedule goals across all disciplines. This role will be customer facing, so communication skills and customer interactions are required. A leadership role in the company, the Engineering Manager will be tasked with understanding hiring needs, projecting schedule and budget, and concisely conveying that information to the leadership team and board.
Responsibilities- Manage individual engineering groups focused on unmanned maritime systems in the undersea and surface domains.
- Develop hiring plans for growth of the engineering department based on current and projected needs.
- Understand overall technical goals for individual programs and make decisions about performance metrics.
- Collaborate with internal R&D programs to assist in technology transition into active and future programs.
- Present status and projected needs for engineering groups to leadership team and board.
This position will supervise additional members of the design and engineering department.
Work EnvironmentThis position requires time spent on the shop floor and exposure to shop elements including noise, moving parts, dust and fumes. It also utilizes standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work in noisy and dust-filled spaces, climb on and around large structures, lift heavy materials, and sit or stand for extended periods of time.

This is a full-time salaried position, with frequent occurrences working beyond normal working hours.

RequiredEducation and Experience
- Master's degree in Engineering or related field.
- Experience in the design of unmanned underwater vehicles.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in design, engineering, and/or manufacturing.
- Excellent communications skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong team building and management skills.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Able to obtain a security clearance.
- PhD in Engineering or related field.
- Prior experience running multidisciplinary teams for DoD programs.
- Knowledge of prepreg composite manufacturing.
- Knowledge of manufacturing machines and tools.
- Experience with systems design and systems integration.
