Saab, Inc. is seeking a dynamic, results‑oriented Manufacturing Manager for our Cranston, RI site. At Saab in Cranston, Rhode Island, you have the opportunity to join a team that manufactures underwater products for DoD and international customers. The Manufacturing Manager reports to the VP of Operations and is responsible for the entirety of manufacturing operations, supporting the Autonomous and Undersea Systems Division of Saab, Inc.
This individual will manage a team of approximately 20 people and oversee production, financial controls, plant security and safety, regulatory compliance, and quality. Additionally, as Saab looks to expand its production operations in Rhode Island, this individual will establish additional capacity in the coming years and develop and implement strategies to meet cost, quality, delivery, customer satisfaction, EHS, and continuous improvement goals.
- Attract and retain the production staff necessary to achieve strategic business objectives and operating goals, managing the appropriate distribution of skills and capacity across the organization.
- Lead, inspire, and engage a diverse team of employees.
- Drive performance to reach Saab, Inc.’s revenue, EBIT, and OTD goals.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance cost and schedule performance.
- Assist and guide with workflows, prioritization, procedures, training, support, safety, process improvement, and quality.
- Monitor and guide the team to achieve delivery of high‑quality products, including performance, reliability, cost, and on‑time delivery.
- Establish and maintain the Manufacturing Capital Budget.

RequiredEducation and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, operations management, or related field.
- Master’s degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred; MBA desirable.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience with a proven track record of success.
- Solid understanding of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and/or Six Sigma.
- Forecast resource requirements (people, money & assets) to meet business objectives.
- Ability to contribute to the development strategy and lead strategic initiatives in support of functional and business objectives.
- Measure team and process performance through the definition and use of appropriate metrics.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% in support of program and business development efforts.
- Working experience in a matrix organization.
- Capable of obtaining a Secret level clearance.
- Knowledge of DoD acquisition process and customer requirements.
- Experience with Oracle.
