Overview
Accounting / Bookkeeper role at Coldstar International. This position requires applying accounting principles to handle complex issues, including month-end close, analyzing financial information, and preparing financial reports. The role involves compiling information from Quick Books – manufacturing edition, preparing profit and loss statements, and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures. Applicants should be organized, detail-oriented, capable of follow-up, familiar with Excel, and able to manage and manipulate large databases.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Perform cost accounting and costing for the company.
- Perform various accounts reconciliations as assigned by management.
- Work in progress, inventory, cost of sales, and other accounts related to cost accounting.
- Perform journal entries as assigned by management (Payroll accruals and actuals, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, collections, purchasing, inventory, etc.).
- Management reporting related to cost accounting and inventory.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Monitor internal processes and controls to ensure compliance with department, client, and vendor guidelines.
- Interact with auditors (internal and external) to provide requested data and reports in a timely manner.
- Assist in all administrative matters.
- Provide accounting policy orientation for new staff.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly journal entries.
- Prepare and analyze general ledger account reconciliations.
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare various governmental filings including monthly and quarterly sales and use tax.
- Collaborate with other staff members and back up team members as needed.
- Recommend changes to improve systems and workflow.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

- Interact with payers, vendors, and providers with positive relationships
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
- 5-7 years of accounting experience preferred
- Experience in general accounting functions
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Strong financial accounting background
- Standard cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical skills using Microsoft Excel and Quick Books
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving, organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to work well with others, both internal and external
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to multi-task and communicate effectively at all levels of management
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong computer skills — proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Can-do attitude with initiative and willingness to adapt to change
- Willingness to be dedicated to the position, focused on work with limited interruptions from outside responsibilities
- Attendance is essential
Physical demands are moderate with occasional lifting of items weighing approximately 20–30 pounds. Vision must be correctable to normal range and hearing acuity must be adequate to receive instructions and converse on standard telephone. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard and other standard office equipment. Successful drug and background screen required.
