Under general supervision of the Director of Administration, the City of Bristol seeks a Risk Management Specialist. This working specialist position is responsible for performing day‑to‑day risk management activities related to the City’s Risk Management Program, including intake, investigation, and resolution of claims. The Specialist also assesses and identifies risks that could impede the safety and security of the City.

Successful candidates must be able to effectively communicate with City staff, Department Heads, relevant agencies, and the public, research complex issues, and recommend an effective course of action. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Health, Safety or a closely related field with at least three years of proven relevant experience, and a thorough understanding of Workers’ Compensation, Property and Liability Coverage, OSHA, and best practices of risk management is required.

Public sector experience and a Master’s Degree in a relevant field are preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, training and experience will be considered. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and able to quickly learn the City’s systems. Possession of a valid Driver’s License is required.

Applicants will have a competitive benefits package with an annual salary range of $55,530 to $83,295, dependent on qualifications.
